Shark Being Squeezed

300 x 200 cm
Oil on canvas
2014

Na Wei believes that the moment colour touches canvas a painting is created. This moment carries its own emotional significance. The artist likens squeezing paint out of a tube to birthing a child. In Na Wei’s art, squeezing is a significant metaphor. Man is constantly being squeezed by time, space and competition. Being squeezed is a life experience.
